Katharine is a writer and editor with nearly twenty years of tutoring and admissions experience. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University, she began teaching at Columbia University, where she received her MFA in nonfiction and was awarded a Dean’s Fellowship, the school’s highest merit-based award. Her first book, All the Lives We Ever Lived: Seeking Solace in Virginia Woolf, was published in 2019 and named a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice. Her essays and articles have appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Paris Review, and Vogue, among other publications.

When she’s not guiding applicants through the admissions process (for college and graduate school), she can be found hiking in Montana, obsessing over politics, hanging out with her family and her two cats, and writing her next book.
