Test Prep

Karim Talaat studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Economics. Before attending Berkeley, Karim took a semester off after graduating high school to teach SAT/ACT prep classes and tutor test prep one-on-one. He also worked with students on building their college application target lists and applications, sending students to Cornell, UCLA, UC Berkeley (a personal success), Northwestern, Duke, and a variety of other top colleges.

Karim’s approach to mentorship centers around connection. He trusts and admires the manor in which teens are capable of communicating what they need from a mentor, and prioritizes working with students to cater their time together to these needs. For Karim, mentorship and test prep isn't about strictly learning how to answer questions, but holistically trying to alleviate some of the pressures of standardized testing and college applications in order to help the student thrive, and almost certainly as a result, perform better!

When he’s not working, Karim enjoys sports—namely soccer (he’s a big Liverpool fan) and volleyball. He’s also a lover and student of chess, although he’s very much still learning. Having grown up in Dubai, Karim really enjoys off-road driving (in the desert), or trips to the beach to spend some time outdoors.
