Based in London by way of San Francisco and New York, Daniel is an expert mentor specializing in ACT/SAT prep and humanities subjects including AP U.S. History, AP European History, AP World History, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP Human Geography, AP Spanish Language, IB History, IB English, IB Global Politics, IB Geography, IB Theatre, and IB Film. Daniel brings to the table over 10 years of mentorship experience, including three years as a peer mentor and teacher's assistant in international high schools in New York City as well as 3,000+ mentorship hours with more than 100 ESM Prep students. He graduated summa cum laude from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study and holds a Master's degree with distinction from SOAS, University of London. Daniel has a passion for connecting with students and helping them leverage their strongest skill areas to unlock achievements across all subjects and disciplines, a spirit that guides his work with ESM students. His approach to mentorship—informed by critical thinking pedagogy and critical pedagogy—asks each student to think beyond the task at hand and look for connections across topics, themes, or subjects to achieve their highest potential. He encourages students to take each assessment as an opportunity for skill- and knowledge-building that will benefit them not only as students but also as future professionals, thinkers, and people. Daniel believes every person has immense capability to better understand the world around them and to use this understanding to add value to their communities, and that the right mentor can help any student access and build upon their knowledge-from-experience to achieve academic and career success. When Daniel isn't mentoring, he also serves as Guidewell Education's Content and Communications Strategist. In his free time, you'll likely find him cooking exciting new recipes, baking chocolate chip cookies, or knitting a sweater. He loves to travel for culinary inspiration, but he is equally as happy to sit in the park with a picnic and a good book.
