Carrie has been working as an academic tutor and mentor for over 16 years. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where she earned a master’s degree and was published internationally. Carrie also earned her B.A. from Wake Forest University, graduating summa cum laude in the top 3% of her class. She has deep experience as a college essay mentor, master test prep tutor, executive functioning coach, and academic subject tutor.
Carrie is passionate about guiding and uplifting her students—encouraging teens to approach the college application process (and life!) with confidence. She is honored to have supported countless students in achieving their goals. Her students' recent acceptances include UPenn, Georgetown, Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, Duke, USC (Film), UVA, and UChicago to name only a few.
She finds the college application process to be particularly empowering for her students and encourages them to “dig deep” so as to unearth their most authentic thoughts and experiences. Each student recalls, processes, and expresses information differently; as such, Carrie’s process is very individualized. She feels that no life event is “too small” or too insignificant to inspire a compelling, authentic application essay.
In her free time, Carrie enjoys writing, painting, singing, dancing, drumming, traveling, and spending time in nature—ideally close to the ocean!
