One of ESM’s most experienced mentors, Lawrence has been mentoring students since 2003. To date, he has worked with hundreds of students all across the country. An engineer at heart, he enjoys breaking down complex tasks, ideas, and processes to make homework and the college application process as painless as possible for his students and families. In addition to being a college admissions expert, Lawrence tutors a wide variety of subjects including ACT and SAT prep, GRE and GMAT prep, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, calculus, differential equations, statistics, English, US history, and Spanish. His experience, wide breadth of knowledge, and varied interests allow Lawrence to make his lessons relevant to all his students.

Lawrence received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the nation’s top undergraduate engineering school,  Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana. He also earned his master of business administration from UC Davis where he concentrated in marketing and business analytics. Before coming to ESM, Lawrence worked in various manufacturing industries where he specialized in quality, process improvement, and corporate training. Throughout his engineering career, Lawrence continued his work with students and is thrilled to now be able to focus on mentoring students full time. When he’s not working, you can find Lawrence playing basketball, tennis, climbing, or biking. He also likes to spend time outdoors with his two rescue dogs, Marv and Echo.
