Academic Mentorship

Sarah graduated from the University of Bristol with a First-Class Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. During her studies, she conducted research into advanced carbon fibre composites for the world’s largest wind turbine blades and developed an Earth observation satellite with Airbus and the European Space Agency. Her interest in space led her to an engineering role at a cutting-edge reusable rocket engine company. Alongside her academics, Sarah began mentoring students, helping them achieve top marks and gain entry into leading universities. She has coached students through college application essays and a range of programmes including A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate, SAT, ACT, and GCSEs. Today, she brings the same focus and curiosity that fuelled her engineering career into her mentoring, drawing on years of experience to help both ambitious STEM and creative students.

Sarah’s approach to mentorship is deeply holistic and student-centred. She believes that every learner’s path to success is different, and she takes time to understand each student’s individual strengths and motivations. Her goal is to help students curate the best college essays or achieve exam excellence. With academic mentorship, she particularly aims to help students connect ideas across disciplines to see the bigger picture behind what they’re learning. Having started mentoring while still a university student herself, Sarah has developed the ability to communicate complex ideas in a relatable, engaging way. For her, the most rewarding part of the job is watching her students’ self-confidence grow as they realise what they’re capable of.

Based in Edinburgh, Sarah spends her winters ice-climbing and skiing in the Scottish Highlands and her summers exploring further afield—most recently trekking through the Malaysian rainforest. Sarah brings the same enthusiasm and determination to what she does, whether it’s helping students tackle a difficult calculus concept, write a uniquely compelling personal essay, or scaling a frozen waterfall.
