Sam Brakarsh is a facilitator, consultant, and educator from Zimbabwe. He holds an MSc from Oxford (graduated with highest distinction), a BA in Social Psychology and Global Health from Yale, as well as graduating from the United World College in Costa Rica. Sam has taught and mentored students across five continents—leading Theatre of the Oppressed programs, facilitating classes and workshops, and preparing students for U.S. college admissions through the Yale Young Global Scholars program. His students have gone on to win national awards, gain admission to top universities, and hopefully leave their sessions with a bit more comfort in how they express themselves.
Transitioning to college is stressful enough. Sam’s approach creates a thoughtful space where students can identify and solve the tasks in front of them. He encourages reflection on who they are, how they want to communicate themselves, and what makes their voice distinct. The process balances joy and rigor, helping students build clarity, structure, and storytelling skills they’ll carry well beyond the application.
In his spare time, Sam loves cooking, writing, and pretending to be a magician. He also applied to university to study physics so loves the way life can take you in unpredictable directions!
