Courtney is a Northern California native who graduated from Calaveras High School. As both a first-generation high school graduate and college student, she was unprepared for the college admissions process but found a community at Folsom Lake College. While at FLC, Courtney was a student-athlete and dedicated her free time to her community as a student ambassador.
What Courtney thought was her backup plan ended up being her path to her dream school. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at UC Berkeley with an emphasis in Education all while earning highest distinction. While working as the director of a literacy program in her senior year of college, Courtney witnessed the power of mentorship. The reward of seeing her students grow and learn solidified her passion for working in education.
After hearing of ESM’s holistic approach to education, Courtney knew she had found the company to begin her career with. Since joining the team, Courtney has become a jack of all trades in her position as Chief of Staff, from finding the perfect mentor match for students to assisting her phenomenal team.
In addition to enjoying her role as Chief of Staff, Courtney takes pride in her work as a college coach. She specializes in transfer counseling due to her personal experience within the California Community College system. Courtney’s passion for mentorship and education drives her to help students and parents navigate the ever-evolving world of college admissions.
When she’s not at the ESM office, Courtney spends as much time as she can with her dog, Toby. You can find them exploring Sacramento and coaching youth sports on the weekends. Courtney prides herself on her love of learning and will always be a student at heart. She is therefore so grateful to be surrounded by a community of passionate, inspiring educators.
