Test Prep

Andrew is one of the world’s most experienced standardized test prep mentors, bringing nearly three decades and over 30,000 instructional hours of expertise to his work with students. Specializing in the ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, and GMAT, Andrew’s teaching philosophy centers on clarity, fundamentals, and active reasoning. His highly interactive sessions are structured as an ongoing dialogue, encouraging students to stress-test their own understanding and build the conceptual confidence necessary to apply critical thinking under pressure. By helping students recognize underlying patterns in logic, language, and quantitative reasoning, Andrew ensures they are not just memorizing rules, but mastering the "why" behind every question.
As the Head of Tutoring for Metro Academic Prep (now part of ESM Prep), Andrew served as a comprehensive guide through the college and graduate school admissions landscape. He worked extensively to navigate the complexities of applications, essays, and interviews, authored continually evolving curricula, and mentored dozens of fellow educators on how to excel in their craft.
Originally from Freeport, Maine, Andrew holds a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from Columbia University, where he also earned his MFA in Film. An accomplished filmmaker, he has written multiple films, including The Quarry, starring Oscar nominee Michael Shannon, and Nor'easter, featuring Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan. This blend of technical rigor and creative fluency allows him to connect with a diverse range of students, from future engineers to aspiring artists. When he isn't mentoring students, developing scripts, or drawing on his background in photography and visual arts to stay inspired, Andrew enjoys spending quality time with his family. As a father of two, he has a great deal of empathy for those who are on similar journeys with their own kids.
