Tommy received his dual degree in theater and creative writing from Emory University, where he graduated with both highest honors and the Louis B Sudler Award for Excellence in the Arts. While still an undergraduate, he received multiple staged readings of his work, including at the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, where his script Henry Darger Takes a Walk won first place in the one-act play competition. He remains the youngest winner in the festival's history, and continues to work as a decorated playwright, actor, and theater artist. In his years with Guidewell's Applerouth tutoring, he has mentored students in every standardized test on the market, specializing in AP Humanities topics and inspiring students to read!

Tommy's arts background leads him to approach every student with the same joy, empathy and curiosity that he would any other collaborator. He believes in the individuality of every new learner he engages with, and transforms his approach for each program, building consistent trust across different backgrounds. Students working with Tommy are encouraged to examine their own processes, chasing long-term understanding to create reproducible results. How do I learn best? What do I seek out in education and in life? What fascinates me about the world? This self-examination is crucial to students as they prepare to make the leap from high school to college. Empowering learners to take control of their own narratives is Tommy's highest goal in essay coaching.

Outside of work, Tommy performs live theater up and down the East Coast. His favorite roles thus far have been Romeo for the Atlanta Shakespeare Company and Francis in Gemini for EgoPo Classic Theater. In his free time, he plays TTRPGs, reads alt-comix, and throws elaborately themed house parties for friends and loved ones. He lives in Philadelphia with two beautiful cats and his partner, Tess.
