G.K. Chesterton
Kevin is a career educator with 20 years experience supporting students of all backgrounds and levels worldwide. He has been a professional special educator and college preparation teacher since 2006. After graduating from Howard University with a B.S. in Psychology, he joined the charter corps of TFA Hawaii as a special educator focusing on neurodevelopmental, learning, and emotional/behavioral disorders in the secondary school setting. Since that time, Kevin has taught at public, charter, and private schools in multiple states and countries as well as independent centers providing college coaching for standardized tests and applications.
In his time as a career educator, and with ESM/Guidewell Kevin has worked with thousands of students, many of whom went on to attend elite colleges including Harvard, Wellesley, Notre Dame, MIT, USC, NYU, BC, and many more. Rather than just helping students get to college, Kevin's goal is for them to set themselves up to succeed through and beyond college.
Kevin's favorite things to do are travel and learn. He believes that the best thing a true teacher can do is be ready and willing to teach/learn anything with anyone—not to be a master of everything, but to be a master of one's ability to learn. And what better way to learn than in person as much as possible? As a traveling trainer for the State Department, Kevin got to live his dream and traveled to over 25 countries and trained trainers and learners from all walks of life.
When Kevin is still, he is studying his favorite topics (particularly education systems, psychology, and anthropology) or enjoying family, friends, and fellowship.
