Connect

Connection has been a bit difficult over the past year due to Covid, but Sean made the best of it. He lived on campus in a triple dorm, but because all classes were remote he couldn't connect with professors as much as he would have liked. However, he was still able to secure an internship in Ann Arbor via Instagram.

Learn

Sean is really interested in delving deeper into economics. After taking an upper level economics class his freshman year at the University of Michigan, he decided he wanted to try to transfer into the business school. He’s really interested in more economics with history, accounting, finance, sales, and marketing classes, and gaining overall business experience.

Share

When asked to share a meaningful story, Sean told me about his experience visiting the University of Michigan and how it sort of helped him choose to attend. It was October when he went for his tour and it had been raining for two weeks straight. However, as soon as he arrived the sun came out—it was mid 60s and sunny. During the tour he got to go on the football field to kick a field goal, ate excellent food, and overall had a great day. As soon as the tour was over, the rain came back and his flight home was delayed—but his college choice was made!

Inspire

Sean has been inspired by the ESM mentors he worked with who shaped his roadmap for the future, and hopes to inspire others the same way. Billy and Justin helped in an especially big way—attending Launch was life changing and Justin helped him make his Pokemon Go essay as strong as possible. Sean’s advice for others needing a bit of inspiration? Finish strong! It will only do you well to do well.
