Lynn’s passion for learning and commitment to growth developed at an early age and propelled her into a life-long career in education. She grew up in Elk Grove, CA, challenging herself to read anything she could borrow from the library, only to return the next week for more. This was the foundation for her love for reading and challenging herself to write in all genres. Teaching wasn’t an option, it was her destiny. She graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies. While she attended college, she worked as an assistant to a masterful Resource Specialist who mentored her in the art of assessing student need and providing differentiated instruction. Lynn went on to earn her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at National University and began teaching in both the public and private sectors, including two California Distinguished Schools.
Lynn prides herself in the connection she makes with students by illuminating their strengths, developing their skills, and most importantly, providing genuine motivation and care for their success. Lynn has mentored beyond the classroom, providing individualized instruction for students with an emphasis on reading comprehension and written language, transcending all subject areas.
When not teaching, Lynn is keeping up with the busy lives of her three adult daughters. You can typically find her walking her dogs, looking for the next hiking trail, or planning an excursion to the ocean, her happy place. Throughout the many chapters of Lynn’s life, she has been told by many, “You need to write a book - no one can make that up!” and is considering crafting her memoir. The truth is, everyone has a story to tell!
