"Those that know, do. Those that understand, teach."

Aristotle

Nikolas grew up in Cupertino, California, in the heart of the Silicon Valley. His skills and interest in mathematics and the sciences led him to pursue a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science at Santa Clara University— a degree he completed in 2014. After realizing that cubicle work was not for him, he began substitute teaching and quickly saw how much he enjoyed working in the classroom. He enrolled in a teaching program to earn a mathematics teaching credential and a Master’s in Education at National University, which he is currently in the process of completing.

Nik began tutoring family and friends in math at a young age, but began working as a tutor professionally in 2011 when he started college. Since then, he has worked with students in a variety of subjects including middle school, high school, and college level mathematics courses, computer science, chemistry, physics, and biology, as well as standardized test prep for the ACT and SAT. His students have said that he excels at making material accessible and relatable, and he lives for the moment a student has their “Aha!” moment about a subject they previously did not grasp.

Nik enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, having board game nights with friends, as well as playing video games whenever he can squeeze in some time.
